Bertie Scott - Higher [Single] Review
15 August 2019
The alt-pop artist hailing from Southend shares latest hook-filled hit.
Following on from his 2018 singles ‘Feel Alive’ and ‘Hear Me Now’, Bertie Scott has released his latest banger in the form of ‘Higher’, the first of three tracks that are to be released in short succession (keep your eyes peeled for more!). Bertie explores his feel good side on ‘Higher’ with vocal melodies and chorus drops that get stuck in your head for the rest of the week.
The track was co-written with Chris Bourne at his studio in Southend, Essex and produced by Jamie Sellers at Run Wild Music, with the final mix by John Mitchell (who’s credits include You Me At Six and Lower Than Atlantis) at Outhouse Studios. The alt-pop blend of emotive lyrics in the verses that build up to an anthemic chorus makes for a perfect soundtrack to those late night drives or blazing hot summer days, Bertie adds “The production has gone through a tonne of different versions and changes, but I’m really happy with how it’s all ended up. Every time I listen to the chorus drop I can’t help but feel the good vibes.”

With an exciting and energetic electro-pop sound that is heavily based on Scott’s strong vocals, soaring, upbeat synths and driving basslines, we’re excited by what’s to come from Bertie and can’t wait to hear more. He has been busy behind the scenes working on new music and also on the live circuit playing at UK’s Pride Festivals over the summer, with appearances in Oxford, Canterbury, Colchester, Southend, with Herts still to come at the end of the month followed by Bath, Wales and Norwich to finish things off at the end of the season.
‘Higher’ is available on all online streaming platforms and features in our August playlist.
